Happy New Year, everyone!
Seven years ago today I posted my first story on the internet, the first seventeen chapters of Harry & the Pirate. I remember how excited and nervous I was, and how thrilled when PotC fans began reading and leaving comments. A few days later,
erinrua, captain of
blackpearlsails, found the story and added it to her great recs page, and then invited me to join the Black Pearl Sails Yahoo group. To say I was thrilled would be putting it very mildly.
It's been an exciting seven years since that New Years Day 2004, and there have been many changes in the PotC fandom and in my own life. Yet here I am, ready to post what will probably be the last multi-chaptered addition to the Harry & the Pirate universe, twenty chapters, one per day for the next twenty days. Stories featuring OFC's don't appeal to everyone, particularly when said females are involved with the lead canon character. Yet a number of PotC fans have read and enjoyed the Harry & the Pirate stories, and have very kindly encouraged me to write more, and this is my gift to them. It's also been a very special gift to my dear friend and beta reader,
hereswith, who wanted more about Tom and Anne.
Harry & the Pirate is a post-CotBP A/U and entirely ignores the story and character development of Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. The stories also include many original characters besides Harry, and tend to be somewhat complicated plotwise. But I am hoping that Blood and Treasure has enough explanatory information even for first time readers, and I also hope that those already familiar with this universe will enjoy Jack and Harry's adventures in England, where most of this story is set (and I apologize in advance if I've gotten any details about the setting outrageously wrong -- I hesitated to impose on any of my English friends by asking for assistance in "Brit-picking" the 40K words of this story so there may be errors here and there, though I've done my best, and these are, after all, based on a canon that features an undead monkey).
So, without further ado, here we go...

Drabble: 'Pace' (Jack/Harry (OFC) - G)
Nov. 26th, 2010 09:55 amI've been re-reading some of
viva_gloria's 1200 word Sentences at
impofperversity lately (amazing writing, I bow to her brilliance), and this 200 words drabble is composed in that style.
trinityday, Drabble Mate at
blackpearlsails, seems to be posting some strangely apt prompts of late, considering the recent birth of my new grandson, whose company I've been enjoying here at my daughter's home for more than a week now. Last week's prompt was 'Pace'...

A double drabble, set after Harry & the Pirate V: Caribbean Quests. Many thanks to
hereswith for looking it over.
(I'm having too much fun playing in the H&theP universe again, already wrote the first chapters of #6, Blood & Treasure!)

It's SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!! Whoot! Go me! On the other hand,
hereswith was up into the wee hours of Monday beta reading, for which I owe her, once again, profuse thanks. This chapter is a little longer, about 3200 words, to make up for last week's shorter one, I guess.

Isn't it still Sunday somewhere? I guess not. RL caught up with me in the last few days, but better late than never, right? Here's Chapter Three of Harry & the Pirate V: Caribbean Quests, with thanks to

ACK! Internet problems are the DEVIL!!! It's still Sunday, however, in California at least, so I'm not late yet. Here's Chapter Two of Harry & the Pirate V: Caribbean Quests, with thanks to

Here, at long last, is the fifth multi-chaptered story in the Harry & the Pirate series. The series is a post-CotBP A/U, and I wrote much of the first story in late 2003, before I even knew there was such a thing as fanfiction on the internet, lol! Many thanks to all of you who have let me know that you have enjoyed and continue to enjoy the Harry & the Pirate stories, and to
hereswith for her mad beta skilz and constant support.
I hope to post every Sunday, and this one should be between five and seven chapters. The story begins about five months after the end of Harry & the Pirate IV: The Chalice of St. Francis...

A little more Harry & the Pirate, a belated gift for birthday girl
ladymouse2, 300 words set post Swann's Revenge and spoilery for same. This is also for the
potc100 prompt 'Eidetic' (I love it when I have to google a word!), and for last week's prompt at
blackpearlsails, 'Protest'. As always, my deepest thanks to
hereswith for beta reading.

Fic: 'Beloved'
Feb. 2nd, 2009 07:23 pmOh, the angst!
stealmybike asked for some stories about the mothers of the PotC characters, and I offered to do Governor Weatherby Swann. This is a little over 900 words, and I owe
hereswith extra thanks for fitting the beta read and edit into her busy schedule.

25 of 50 Harry & the Pirate Sentences
Mar. 25th, 2007 06:10 pmThere are a number of readers who have been asking for more Harry & the Pirate, much to my surprise and gratification. I have a six or seven chapter story outlined, but I also had these started, having joined the
1sentence community a while back. Can't post these at
1sentence until all 50 are done, but I finished 25 of my sentences so I thought I'd at least post those and link them here in the hope that will spur me on to do the rest in short order.
Harry & the Pirate is such a different universe to write in than canon PotC, and easier in some ways -- much less angst involved, certainly. It seems rather A/U, post-DMC, but the universe fit rather neatly as a post-CotBP sequel. These sentences are spoilery for all four of the Harry & the Pirate stories, but may be interesting even if you haven't read those.
Many thanks to
hereswith for beta reading, edits, and suggestions.

Oh, the Angst ! *sob*
Aug. 11th, 2006 11:14 pmPosting my Norribeth Angstathon story two days before the deadline! Go me! It isn't a long one, just 500 words (four 125 word drabbles) written for my dear
yoiebear, who requested James at Elizabeth and Will's wedding. Since the canon wedding was spoiled by the uncouth Beckett and his minions (and Norrington was drowning his sorrows on another island entirely at the time), I've gone A/U and used Elizabeth and Will's wedding from the second chapter of Harry & the Pirate: Swann's Revenge, entitled, Happy Shalt Thou Be. One section features Harry and her modish "friend", but familiarity with the original story isn't required at all.
I used the four drabble format so this would also qualify for the current challenge at
rough_magic: "Four Truths and a Lie". You'll have to guess which one is which. ;)
Many, many thanks to
hereswith and
honorat for the beta help!
Without further ado, here are...

More 'Harry & the Pirate'
Feb. 2nd, 2006 11:44 amThe drabble challenge theme for this week at Black Pearl Sails is 'lullaby'. Not really suited to Dark of the Moon, so I wrote a little Harry & Jack instead. It's post-Norrington's Choice -- Oh, Can Ye Sew Cushions.
